The pounding grind of standard-fare death metal appears nearly powerless in the presence of Zeni Geva, a Japanese art-metal band fronted by Japanese avant-noise veteran K.K. Null. Freedom Bondage is a chaotic blitz of gale-force guitars and whirlwind rhythms from start to finish, yet no matter how tumultuous it becomes, it retains a brutal beat and a strong sense of dynamics.
