Review

"A life-changing moment fixes the beginning of Brosseau's brilliant album...a love letter to what was lost [and] a series of snapshots from a childhood that ended when the dikes gave way. The understated melody [and] plaintive voice...sound as if they come from some faraway time." - CHICAGO TRIBUNE

Since the 2005 release of What I Mean To Say Is Goodbye, Tom Brosseau has garnered much acclaim Chord and Harp as well as John Doe and Bonnie Raitt. On the heels of this success comes a re-release of Brosseau's 2001 CD The Blue Record, which has been unavailable for several years. All the songs have been re-mastered, and Brosseau has added five bonus tracks, three of which are previously unreleased. "Used to Own a Rowing Boat" is an outtake from the Goodbye recording sessions with Sam Jones, while "The Young and the Free" is a 2003 on-air recording from KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic with Nic Harcourt.
