Review

`Somewhere Else Is Here' is the long awaited second album from UK masters of down-tempo, The Funky Lowlives. Released through London-based label Outer, it's cinematic compositions strike a chord with fans of Air, Zero7 and Massive Attack. All recorded live and delivered with a knowing ease.

Whilst this will be a first encounter for many, The Funky Lowlives are no newcomers to this game. Gary Danks and Jon Whitehouse have been producing and remixing since 1998 and have notched up over 40 remixes including Masters At Work, The Knife, Dizzy Gillespie and Soul Central's `Strings Of Life', their sound is set to take on the masses in a comfy chair near you.

Give this album a first listen, a second, a third, and a fourth. It will soon carve its own place in any collection.
