UK edition of 2003 compilation has 41 tracks to the domestic's 40 & replaces 'Police On My Back' with '1977' & 'Broadway'. This double CD set brings together the most popular tracks by the influential London-formed punk act. 'The Essential Clash' includes material from their 1977 self-titled debut right through to 1985's 'Cut The Crap'. Its release follows the death of Joe Strummer their frontman & main songwriter who passed away in December 2002 before the completion of this project. Sony. The European Version of the Essential Clash Collection Varies by Eight Different Tracks, plus One More in Quantity Than It's American Counterpart. Included Here Are Tracks that were More Popular Amongst European Youth of the Time, Like "1977", "Hate and War", "Cheat", "Groovy Times", "Jimmy Jazz", "Ivan Meets G.i.
