Review
Guitarist Randy Jacobs was known to take off on an onstage backflip or two during his tenure with Was (Not Was). Along with that group's signature voice, Sweet Pea Atkinson, he now powers the Boneshakers, whose blend of funk, blues, and rock comes together convincingly on Shake the Planet, their second album. While never going quite as far out as when they laid down the Was brothers' concepts, the two put forth a skewed-enough worldview on songs such as "Pouring Gasoline on a Burning Man" and "Hype." --Rickey Wright
