Review

Swampy guitars, sparkling keyboards and a crunchy rhythm section combine to advance the cause. First cut out of the block is a Willie Dixon cover, "I Got What It Takes." Jenn Sharif shows it to be true. Next cut "Nobody Knows" is reminiscent of Janis in the "Pearl" days. A little more coherent and wiser, backed with a horn section that screams Philadelphia. Sharif takes a straight ahead turn against an L.A. style funk in her own "Litterbug, Litter On" and then sits out for guitarist Gary Wright's turn at Arthur Crudup's "Rock Me Mama," with the high trebly sound of a 78 RPM record brought out in the production. There are no weak cuts here. Another standout is the band penned "Nothings Changed," with a very mature individual voice by Sharif. Along with Sharif and Wright, Joe Santora plays guitar, Rob Hooks plays drums and Philly Ray Proctor is on harmonica. I have listened to this several times since I got it, you will too. Highly recommended!
