Review

This CD is a beautiful composition of modern duets, harmonies and music combined with traditional ancient mantras, chants and bhajans. Most of the songs are sung by Mahalaxmi and Sura. She sings sweet celestial soprano which mixes with Sura's raspy (old blues singer) voice, to create a kind of Beauty and the Beast scenario. Mahalaxmi sang with the Australian National Choir for 5 years and her pristine angelic presence is felt throughout the CD. Adwaita plays the mrdunga drum, which slowly brings the chanting to its' crescendo again and again. Several men and women make up the background and harmony vocals to make this CD soulful, mellow and timeless.
