Review

Tarralyn Ramsey's years of waiting have paid off. After she turned down offers to record mainstream R&B albums, her desire to follow her true calling in gospel music is finally being fulfilled. The first major exposure of her amazingly soulful vocal style was on the WOW Gospel 2000 project with the song "Unconditional Love." Now, with her heart-rending self-titled debut recording, she is poised on the brink of stardom. But even with the majority of this project written and produced by gospel heavyweight Donald Lawrence (Tri-City Singers) and jazz artist Wayman Tisdale, stardom is not Ramsey's ambition. She is also an effective preacher, and the call to encourage and inspire other believers is what has motivated her. She regards her music as a steppingstone into ministry. Even though she's only 20 years old, Ramsey's vocal talent is unbelievably well endowed with power and honesty, easily a glowing witness to God's goodness. --Israel Button
