New sounds for the Japanese koto, presented by the Seattle-based Taka Koto Ensemble. This seven-member ensemble performs contemporary works by koto master Tadao Sawai and works by Ensemble director Master Elizabeth Falconer on the classical stringed instrument. Flowing rhythms and soothing textures make this a refreshing listening experience at the end of a long day.The title piece, Taka (Falcon) is the signature piece for the ensemble, and represents everything the ensemble strives to be: Dynamic, vivid, and free.
