Review

Frank Zappa always said it was a good thing he was the ringleader of his ensemble since he would never have passed an audition to play with his bandmates. Henry Rollins suffers from the same fate. Rollins may be a creative and literate individual, but he's a one-trick-pony when it comes to songwriting. The average Rollins tune shifts between two gears: Rollins speaking ominously while his bandmates vamp dark and funky, and Rollins screaming with hatred while his cohorts grind and shred. Fortunately, Chris Haskett and drummer Sim Cain provide Come In and Burn with enough diversity to keep it from sounding trite, unleashing mind-warping chops that range from blackened soul to gut-wrenching noise. --Jon Wiederhorn Japanese edition of the new album adds 'Disappearing Act' & 'Also Ran' as bonus tracks. Also features thesingle 'Starve' and 11 other new tracks, for a total of 14.Japanese Release featuring Two Exclusive Bonus Tracks.
