The Rachel Z trio has accommplihed the near impossible with "Everlasting" as it is a jazz album complete with all of the incredible solos you expect from an artist of this stature who refuses play it safe, yet it is based on Rachel's clever interpretations of real songs with beautiful melodies, many of which will be familar to the listener. Included in this phenomenal offering are jazz piano interpretations of songs originally recorded by a crosssection of rock artists including covers of Soundgarden, Steely Dan, Peter Gabriel, Sting, Seal, Smashing Pumpkins and King Crimson.
