Review

Slick debut from Auckland pop group Pluto who have been singled out by media and musicians as potential rockstars. Pluto began in 1994 and have since been through a change in line up and name. Also, a hectic tour of Germany and brief stint of writing in London. Since returning to the shores of New Zealand they have toured with Neil Finn, released their debut album and have been penciled in for a tour with Bic Runga later in the year. As an album red-light syndrome is an idyllic pop triumph that carries a British indie flavor. Each song holds it weight with tight melodies and a depth sure to swell with future releases. These lads have fixed a stair to the top of New Zealand music hierarchy and look set to climb there with eyes half shut. Karmic Hit. 2005.
