Review

To quickly describe Passenger's music I would call it ”Rhythm and Blues fusion”. More specifically one could say that Grateful Dead, James Brown, Little Feat, Neville Brothers, Steely Dan, Parliament/Funkadelic, Santana, John Scofield, Motown, Bob Dylan, Miles Davis, Bob Marley, Frank Zappa, Allman Brothers, Bill Withers, Van Morrison, Stevie Wonder and others of that ilk, have had a profound influence on this music. The first song on the disc is a cover of Bill Withers' “Ain't No Sunshine. An original song that seems to be getting a lot of attention is track #7, “The Golfing Song”. Track #11 “I Need New Shoes” is also getting a lot of attention from the DJs and programmers that are spinning this disc. I think all the songs are very accessible. You'll see what I mean when you hear it. There are also 5 bonus tracks at the end of the disc that are instrumental versions of some of the songs. These might be more applicable to jazz radio.

The response has been great. I am very confident that you will thoroughly enjoy this disc and will feel compelled to listen to it again and again. It's just that good! Enjoy.
