Review
Outlander's self titled release is a powerful progressive/hard rock masterpiece combining the skill and complexity of bands like Rush and Yes with the raw power of bands like Soundgarden and Black Sabbath. The songs are catchy but moving and original, and never cliche. Lyrically the songs are poetic, sometimes profound, but always leave the listener thinking. The depth of the songs in terms of emotion, orchestration, message, and raw energy will leave all listeners, whether connoisseurs or just music lover, coming back for more.
