Review

When gravel-throated vocalist Barney Greenway left Napalm Death, it looked like curtains for the forefathers of "grindcore." Fortunately, Greenway and his curmudgeonly bandmates settled their differences in time to record Inside the Torn Apart, an album seething with conflict and frustration. The disc showcases the band's ambivalence and volatility, veering madly between semi-melodic accessibility and unfettered death metal bombast.
