For the recording of WHAT'S SO FUNNY, Mudcat Jones joined forces with the acclaimed team of Jeff Juliano (Dave Matthews Band, SEV, Agents of Good Roots) and Paul David Hager (Shawn Mullins, Dixie Chicks, Letters to Cleo, Tracey Bonham). These seven songs demonstrate that Mudcat Jones has developed their own signature sound which lies at the vortex at which modern musical styles meet. Their hypnotic bass lines, explosive guitars, melodic horn, moog, wurlitzer playing and strong vocals are instrumental to the soundwhich is infectiously catchy, sexy and uplifting. The strategic use of moog, drum loops, and samples (combined with their hooky guitars) results in captivating songs. Described by critics as being both "fresh" and "brash".
