THEIR THOUGHT AND BACK AGAIN is the self-produced CD of my post-modern chamber opera, for two singers, six dancers, string quartet, and piano. The piece has been produced to great acclaim under the auspices of Malashock Dance and Company in 1994 and 1996, at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego and at UCLA. The opera concerns the journey of two women, singing in a language of their own invention, who arrive in an interesting town, inhabited by dancers. They seek their places in the community, tell stories, reminisce, dream, dispense advice, and after a time, settle down there themselves. The experimental libretto was derived using William Burroughs style cut-ups. Since the release of the CD, the piece has received a fair amount of radio play on the West Coast, and there are currently new productions pending in Texas and Washington, along with the strong possibility of a film version produced by KPBS in San Diego.The CD contains the complete libretto.
