Review

When Michael sat down to construct Homestead, the idea was to create a full-fledged folk album that ran all the colors of this music - blues and bluegrass, Americana and rock, quiet and loud - into one seamless album that stayed true to it's theme. The compositions were written and produced specifically to sound different from each other in texture and approach. Yet all the songs, in some way, are about Home. The idea of Home. The longing for it. The victory of achieving it. The loss of it. Michael performs guitar, banjo and mandolin throughout. All the songs are self-penned, written at his farmhouse on the north side of Fayette County, Kentucky. He is joined by some excellent and noteworthy musical friends who have helped in name and talent to bring the vision of Homestead to reality.
