The music was recorded live on tour and it features performances from the shows The Magic Band played in 2003 and 2004 at the Royal Festival Hall, The Garage, Edinburgh Liquid Room, and the ATP festival in Los Angeles. Includes a bonus DVD. 2005.The Magic Band Are a Collective of Extraordinary Musicians who Came Together (Thanks to Simpsons Creator Matt Groening's Enthusiasm) from the Lineups that Backed the Legendary Captain Beefheart During his Career. Tribute Bands Are Usually a Poor Relation to the Real Thing, but the Magic Band Are Quite Different. These Players were Inducted Into the Captain's Secret Musical Universe, and Transformed his Unique Ideas Into Works of Unfathomable and Inimitable Beauty. Most of the Tracks (Albeit 3) were Recorded in the UK During 2004.
