From highly acclaimed director Chen Kaige comes the story of a young violin prodigy - an emotional and musical odyssey with huge warmth and truth. Achieving great emotional impact, the films music includes some of the best-loved masterpieces of the classical genre. Works by Tchaikovsky, Paganini, Sibelius and Verdi are performed in the film to great effect by real-life violin prodigy Li Chuanyun, with the China National Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Li Xin Chao.
