Review

The first and unique live album Ken Boothe ever recorded was in Paris, during two shows in a club called Cabaret Sauvage. He is backed by French band No More Babylon, his band when he plays in Europe. A genuine "Best Of " album, including his hits over 40 years carrer : Born on 22nd march 1948 in Kingston, Ken Boothe started his career at the tender age of 15 alongside singer Stranger Cole as part of the duo Stranger & Ken during the ska area. It was not long before star spoting legendary producer Coxsone Dodd took them to Studio One for some recording sessions. Hits florished very quickly as soon as 1963 with tunes like "Artibella", "Hush", "World's Fair" and so on. In 1966, he starts a solo career with the single "You're No Good" and the hit "The Train Is Coming" (with The Wailers) which would bring him local fame. After that, he cut another hit single: "Feel Good" which would established himself as a reggae star, one of the biggest at that time alongside Alton Ellis. He then started to work with an array of producers including Coxsone, Keith Hudson, Sonia Pottinger, Randy's, Phil Pratt and scored again with hits like "Everybody Knows" or "Just Another Girl". In 1968, Coxsone published a strong collection of hits with the "Mr Rocksteady" album. In 1970 he is in top shape as he is working with producer Leslie Kong and records his second album: "Freedom Street". The following year, he teamed up with another great producer: Lloyd Charmers who, alongside English reggae label Trojan, will bring him to stardom. Together they recorded two albums: "Black Gold And Green" in 1972 and "Let's Get It On" in 1974, that same year Ken covered "Everything I Own", a classic English pop song by The Bread. This track toped the charts for several weeks and would be covered again with the same success some fifteen years later with Boy George ! In 1975 Ken is on the English top ten once again, this time with "Crying Over You" which would def
