This cd is well-flushed with various instrumentations, as is custom to the writing/performing talents of Jim Basnight. The combination of guitar-grabbing leads, and intriguing lyrics are supported by Jim's voice, which is mysterious and catches the right tones to support the theme of each song. The generous 18-song cd never leaves you wanting. Pop Top starts off with the energy-driven, mesmerizing "My Vision of You," and one is immediately drawn into the music. With Pop Top, you will dance one minute, and then smile the next. The lyrics captivate you with their stories, and "Blue Moon Heart" will surprise and delight you with a tasteful "honkytonk" piano that adds the right flavor to the mood. This cd is well-produced, and well-blended. It showcases well the many talents of Jim Basnight.
