Review
Former Best Kisser in the World frontman Gerald Collier leaves his pop-rock roots behind for a hushed, Neil Young-ish solo debut. Such a directional change could have resulted in an overly studied set of songs, but I Had to Laugh Like Hell is much more convincing than Collier's previous work. Not a bad buy for those who've been left cold by Paul Westerberg's similar attempts at maturity. --Rickey Wright
