Review

Much like Detroit sits between the right and left coasts, Five Fifty's sound fits somewhere between the art-rock vibe of NYC and the desert groove of California. Think Psychedelic Furs meets Iron Maiden meets Joy Division meets Kyuss, all with a Midwestern bent for hooks and bombast. Five Fifty's debut effort "Get Clean" features Detroit rock meets Monster Magnet ("Numb", "So What You Think?"), CBGB's circa 1978 meets stoner rock circa 1994 ("I'm Sorry", "Running Away") and all points in-between ("Get Clean", "Bucket").
