Review
Entombed may have started in the late '80s as an uninspired death metal band, but since then they've evolved into a visceral and unrelenting outfit that draws inspiration from bands as varied as Corrosion of Conformity, Black Flag and MC5. To Ride, Shoot Straight and Speak the Truth scalds and cuts like an exploding coffeemaker, lacerating the listener with shards of liquid energy. Proto-Sabbath rhythm and bestial howls gallop alongside death metal tones and hardcore aggression, providing something for everyone that has ever wanted revenge on annoying neighbors. --Jon Wiederhorn
