Review

Style: Jazz / Electronica Eliott James has a passion for acoustic elements, and he's sprinkled them throughout the songs on Cinematic Life, using cello, harp, piano, bass and guitar. But these are mixed with strong beats, synths, and electric bass and guitar leads. The result is eleven songs that span several styles, that are hard to classify and even harder to compare to other artists. Composed over a period of six months in 2005, there are hints of jazz, rock, electronica, new age, dance, and soundtrack influences in these songs but not one consistent style that runs throughout. And it works.
