Twenty or thirty years ago, if anyone had tried to imagine what worship would sound like in the 21st century, he or she probably would have been way off. What Delirious has brought to life with its 2000 release Glo is nothing less than a perfect depiction of worshipful expression in a new millennium, something no forecast could have predicted. Blending the most celebrated aspects of their previous records, Glo combines the electronic space-rock of Mezzamorphis with the euphoric worship anthems of King of Fools and Cutting Edge. The exotic songcraft and production together fashion this otherworldly journey, and crest with Martin Smith's divinely awestruck and heaven-desperate temperament. Although Delirious has been in the worshipping business since the early 1990s, each member has retained a focused passion that clearly is unfeigned and likely to cause an internal double take within those who attempt a causal listen. Even the floaty electronic textures of Glo's ballads carry an energy that will not let one drift from the path that the songs are taking. This extravagant response of worship to an infinite God is unmatched by any other worship artist.
