This Dean Evenson release is aptly titled, for Healing Sanctuary is an album one will want to meditate or chill out to by candlelight. While the album consists of eight compositions, they form a unified whole, maintaining a feeling of peace and tranquility throughout this hourlong journey. Evenson's soothing flute leads the way, underscored by his keyboards and accompanied by harpists Dudley Evenson and d'Rachael, with occasional guitar from Scott Huckabay and viola or hammered dulcimer from Phil Heaven. They gracefully weave an aural cocoon out of the ether, opening up a private place for mental and physical relaxation.
