Review
"Just Because" offers an escape to a crowded room filled with an organic, sensual, funky vibe from tracks one through eleven. The Groove and the licks are reminiscent of a Coltrane staccato, a Sarah Vaughn run and the comfort of a Donny Hathaway rift that just wraps around you and hold you comfortably. Oh yeah, Conya is back!
The Eleven-song disc represents an evolution of spirit. From the light, airy, danceable Opening cut "Just Because," to the smoky vibey, "Stay," to the gospel tinged, "Sweet Luv," and the hopeful aspiring, "Miracle." Conya pulls it all from her inner being and puts it on display for the world.
